Intrinsic motivation
Intrinsic motivation is the motivation that comes simply from doing something: the enjoyment of the activity, the pleasure of having it completed, etc.
Intrinsic motivation is generally considered to be the best kind of motivation.
Extrinsic motivation
Extrinsic motivation is motivation that comes from an external source, eg. payment, rewards, freebies, etc.
